Choquequirao is located at 3300 m.a.s.l. is a lost city where the Incas took refuge from 1536. This archaeological site is considered as important as Machu Picchu. The journey begins in Cusco. After 145 Km of paved road and 10 of unpaved road you reach the village Cachora, where a road of 32 Km starts. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, in the route we will also appreciate the flora and fauna of the Apurimac Canyon the deepest in the world , until to get there.

Day 1: Cusco - Cachora - Chiquispa

We leave Cusco early, to the town of Cachora (3100 m.a.s.l.) at 10:00 approximately. Here we find the horses and horsemen and is at this point where we start our trek by a smooth sloping path, on the way we will have our first sights of the Padrayoc (5,482m m.a.s.l.) and Wayna Cachora snowy mountains , during the route will have a short break in the passage of Capuliyoc (2900 m.a.s.l.) from where we will have a panoramic view of the valley of Apurimac, then descend appreciating the beautiful landscape of warm weather to reach Chiquisqa (1930 m.a.s.l.) here we will have our first camp (Lunch and dinner ).

Day 2: Chiquisca - Playa Rosalina - Sunchupata

After breakfast we continue the walk towards the Rosalinda (1550 m.a.s.l.) beach, then climb a hill towards Santa Rosa, in this place we will take the lunch, later we ascend to Maranpata (2850 m.a.s.l.), it is a gentle climb, during this way we can observe all the path from the first day and the vegetation that exists in this place then go along a straight section in the direction of Sunchupata. From this place we travel over one hour to reach the archaeological complex of Choquequirao.

Day 3: Sunchupata - Choquequirao - Chiquisqa

Very early after breakfast we went to Choquequirao to appreciate the sunrise, visit the citadel for three hours, always accompanied by a guide who will explain about this important Inca refuge and the importance of the Apurimac and Rio Blanco rivers and also we can appreciate the Mountain Range of Vilcabamba, after the tour we begin the return to Sunchupata and descend to Santa Rosa, then descending to Playa Rosalina, then we head to the town of Chiquisqa where we camp. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner).

Day 4: Chiquisqa - Capuliyoc - Cachora

After a hearty breakfast in Chiquisqa (06:00 a.m.) we return by the same path until Capuliyoc and from here there are two more hours to the town of Cachora this is a much softer stretch and we will be arriving at 12:00 pm approximately., in the passage we will appreciate exotic flora and fauna as well as sights of majestic snow capped peaks and the impressive canyon of the Apurimac. and then continue to Cusco. Arriving in the afternoon to the hotel. End of our services.
